Welcome to ADvocate! We are delighted to offer this free online resource working to reduce the discrimination experienced by assistance dog teams across the UK. 

 

 

In November 2022, PAWtected CIC started researching the prevalence and impact of discrimination experienced by assistance dog handlers in the UK. The results were staggering, and we knew that something needed to change. So, we created ADvocate. A free resource providing education and support. 

 

Some of the opportunities available include:

• A free training course for service providers on welcoming assistance dogs. 
• A free learning zone for assistance dog handlers to understand their rights. 
• Free advocacy resources to help tackle discrimination as it occurs. 
• A free documenting tool that we will use to track and report on discrimination trends experienced by assistance dog handlers. 
• Free resources for kids to help start the education as young as possible. 
• A free blog to learn more about assistance dogs, top tips, and to provide a voice for assistance dog handlers. 

We want this resource to be for the community. Therefore, we welcome feedback and suggestions on ways that we can develop and adapt this resource to best meet your needs. 

One of the ways we have worked to represent the entire assistance dog community is to set up this site under a different name. This means that all assistance dog teams can utilise this opportunity.
